When did you start practicing yoga, and when did you begin teaching?
I began practising yoga 10 years ago, and have been teaching for a year (although teaching other types of group training classes for over 7 years).

What does yoga mean to you?
For me, yoga is a practice of deep awareness – of moving with intention and truly honouring our body. I love that yoga is for every body, every fitness level, every season of life. It meets you exactly where you are today.

What is the best part about being a yoga teacher?
What a gift it is to guide others to listen deeply to their bodies, to gently remind them to come back to the now, to return to their breath and to still the endless chatter of the mind. I love witnessing the subtle shift in energy as the class progresses and the calm that settles over the room during shavasana.

What is your favorite asana or breathing practice, and why?
My favourite asana is Supta Matsyendrasana, supine twist, and you’ll find it in nearly every class I teach. There’s something beautiful about how this pose invites complete surrender, how the breath helps you to melt deeper into the twist. It’s a lovely reminder that sometimes the deepest release comes not from effort, but from softness.

What training or education do you have?
I completed my 200 hour YTT in hatha and ashtanga at Rishikul Yogshala in Rishikesh, India and 300 hour YTT in vinyasa at Sampoorna Yoga Shala, Goa, India. I also have Certificate III in Fitness from Australia which covers exercise science, anatomy, program design and instruction.
