When did you start yoga and later teaching?
I began practicing yoga over a decade ago as a way to reconnect with my body and manage the stresses of a fast-paced lifestyle. What started as a physical practice quickly evolved into a deeply personal journey of self-discovery and healing. I completed my 200-hour Yoga Alliance certification in 2023 and began teaching shortly thereafter, bringing a functional, breath-focused, and energetically informed approach to every class.
What does yoga mean to you?
Yoga, to me, is the art of coming home to yourself. It is a space of presence, healing, and empowerment. As both a student and teacher, I believe yoga is a sacred practice that helps bridge the mind, body, and spirit—reminding us that wholeness and balance already exist within. By weaving in breathwork and somatic healing, I aim to help students explore this connection and develop a deeper sense of embodiment and awareness.
What is the best thing about being a yoga teacher?
The most fulfilling part of being a yoga teacher is witnessing transformation—both subtle and profound. It’s an honor to hold space where students feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow on and off the mat. Creating an inclusive environment where people from all walks of life can show up authentically and reconnect with themselves is why I teach.
What is your favorite pose or breathing exercise and why?
I love Eagle Arms / Cow/Cats for gently awakening the spine, shoulders and connecting breath to movement. For breathwork, Box Breathing is a go-to—simple, effective, and great for calming the mind and nervous system.
What previous education do you have?
In addition to my 200-hour Yoga Alliance certification and Reiki Level 1 training, I hold a BA in Jazz Music Performance and Production from San Francisco University in Quito, Ecuador. I also completed a program in Documentary and Visual Storytelling at the International Center of Photography in New York. My background in the arts and wellness informs my approach as a teacher—creative, intentional, and rooted in connection.
